The internal frame backpack is the most recent innovation in backpacks, invented in 1967 by Greg Lowe, who founded Lowe Alpine and Lowepro, two companies that specialize in backpacks and other forms of carrying bags for different kinds of equipment. The Alps Mountaineering Cascade 5200 is a popular internal backpack choice in the ALPS mountaineering line. It features a large zippered pocket on each side of the pack designed to provide easy access to certain items when you’re out on the trail.

Aside from these large outside pockets, it also has lower side bottle pockets, a large front pocket, and #10 zippers on the lower door offering convenient access to equipment below the internal horizontal divider. The Cascade 5200 has the Comfort Glide Suspension System which allows you to adjust to that perfect point. It also has the SoftEdge shoulder straps for maximum comfort. The Air Mesh on the inside of the belt stretches with the foam eliminating wrinkles that rub against your body.

Photographer’s Adventures

A nature lover, I have always engaged in backpacking trips to enjoy the natural scenery and the adventures that lay before me on these nature escapades. A photographer by profession, I usually make it a point to bring along my Zion backpack to carry around my SLR camera and capture magnificent scenery when I go out for these trips. Capturing natural imagery in film is absolutely beautiful.

My recent adventure has taken me to a Zion backpack trip at the Zion National Park. With caves and rivers to explore, my trip involved point and shoot moments with my camera. Endless trails and cool weather welcomed me and my hiking friends. These adventures are the highlight of my awesome life.

There are different types of backpacks available that allow for items to be carried directly on the body while still allowing the free use of both hands. For hikers, the most common types of hiking backpacks are day packs, internal frame packs, and external frame packs. Each type of these backpacks are designed for specific purposes and generally carry different amounts of cargo. The sizes and shapes of hiking backpacks vary significantly and are usually measured in cubic centimeters or cubic inches.

Day packs are designed for short hikes during the day or even for short overnight trips. These packs normally do not have any solid frame because they are not large enough to require one. External frame hiking backpacks are affixed to a solid metal or plastic frame to increase support especially for carrying heavy loads. An internal frame hiking backpack is also a larger backpack, although the frame is built inside the hiking backpack instead of on the outside.

When we talk backpacks, we usually have in mind children’s schoolbags. These are usually colorful and made of durable water proof materials. Factors to consider in purchasing a backpack for the child is the size of the bag. It should be the right size and weight for the child’s size and age. It should also have enough compartment space for everything that is needed in the school.

Backpacks are more than children’s school bags. They are used by almost everyone. Backpacks used by campers have entirely different specifications. They are usually wider to spread the weight on a significant portion of the back. They need pockets to organize smaller gear items. In both instances, a leather backpack will provide better service.

Are you a boy scout? That is the term people use for someone who is always prepared for any situation. A good time to be a boy scout is when you are out camping or hiking with friends.

Every time you head out, you should be sure to bring all the things that you will need. Make a list and check off all the items you plan to pack before you go. A good bag should have enough room and compartments for all your supplies, so you might want to check out military tactical packs that are designed with these specifications in mind.

What’s designed to carry 11 combat-loaded air assault troops, is capable of moving a 105-millimeter howitzer and 30 rounds of ammunition and was first deployed in 1978? Not sure? It’s a UH-60 BlackHawk front-line utility helicopter. These helicopters are used for aeromedical evacuation, air cavalry assaults and in special operations platforms.

The Black Hawk helicopter has been part of dramatic improvements in primary-division level helicopter transport. Troop capacity and cargo lift are two benefits of using the Black Hawk. These helicopters also offer features that improve patient care including; neonatal isolettes, oxygen generating systems and environmental control systems.
